Considerable consternation was caused to the Incumbenb of Sb. Peber'e Hamilton, bhe Rev. 0. C. Biggs, ab the early celebration on Sunday last, when on proceeding to bhe vestry to prepare the elemenbs for bhe service, he discovered tbab the silver goblet and paten were missing from the case in which bhey are always depoaibed after service. On closer examination it waa found the case had been forcibly opened and from the very distinct marks on it a narrow chisel had been used for the purpose. The matter has been placed in the hands of the police, but up to laat night no clue whatever had been discovered that would lead to the detection of the thief.—'* Waikato Times."
