Messrs Donald and Edenborough's island trading steamer Richmond arrived early this morning from Tahiti and Rarotonga. She left the last-named porb on June 15th, and had an uneventful voyage.

Messrs John Reid and Co.'s schooner Gleaner, has arrived at Gisborne from Kaipara, after a passage of 19 days, during which time she encountered two furious gales. The schooner Frank Guy, belonging to the same owners, has arrivod ab Sydney from Kaipara.

The agents (Messrs Stone Bros, and Co.), of the lyser Lino (limited), have received advice by cable Irom Newcastle (New South Wales), that the s.s. Star ot Victoria sailed thence, tor this porb on the 23rd inst., and may, therefore, be expected to arrive on Thursday next.

At 10 o'clock yesberday afternoon, the s.s. Australia arrived from Wellington, via Napier and ports, having lefb the former place on the 19ch inst. She experienced Irom Wellington to the East Cape variable winds aud heavy easterly swell; thence acroes the Bay of Plenty and to arrival strong head winds.

The smart topsail schooner Annie Hill arrived on Saturday night from Lyttelton with a consignment of grain. She bad favourable variable winds up the coast to arrival. After tho discharge of her wheab at the Quay-street jetty, the echoouer proceeds to tbe Thames, where she ships timber for Lyttelton.

Mitchelson Bros.' new schooner Huia, built by Mr James Barbour to replace the Annie Wilson, ia very strongly constructed, her timbers being well seasoned and durable. The Huia is a beautiful model, and ia a credit to her builder, who has previously mado a name for himself. Mr J. Harrison's new steamer, which was builb alongside the schooner, is almost completed. The schooner, according to measurement, is of 200 tons register, and is therefore a largo craft for tho topsail schooner rig.

The brigantine Zono arrived from New" castle, alter a smart passage of 10 days on Saturday night, anchoring in tbe stream. She left the coal port on Wednesday, the 13.h inst., and bad a succession of southerly and S.W. winds, with easterly swell on the run across. Thia morning the brigantine was berthed ab the Hobson-street Wharf, from where on the completion of hor discharge towards tbo ond of the week ehe leaves for Kaipara to ship timber for Sydnoy.

The s.s. Tasmania berthed at the Railway Wharf ab 8.20 a.m. bhis morning from Southern ports. Mr Cariess, the purser, reports leaving Lybbelbon 9 p.m. on 20th, Wellington 4 p.m 22nd, Napier 7.30 p.m. on 23rd, rounded East Cape 9.30 a.m. on 24th, and arrivod aa above. Experienced moderate variable winds and hue weather till making Napier, thence to arrival strong S.S. VV. winds aud head sea. The Tasmania h&3 177 sheep from ..ouihern porta which aro going ncroaa to the Syduoy Ram Fair.

The e.s. Mararoa arrived alongside the Queen-street Wharf at 11.15 a.m. today, the 25th inst. Mr Bourne, the purser, reports that she lefb the Town Wharf, Dunedin, at 3.55 p.m. on tbe 19th, called at Lyttelton, Wellington, Napier, and Gisborno, leaving the latter port at noon on the 24_b, reacuing thia port as stated. Experienced moderate winds and teas with lino weather generally to the Easb Cape, when a heavy head sea was encountered, rendering it expedient to slow down for two hours. Tho Mararoa sails to-morrow, and takes to Sydnoy a full complement of paseengera ami 106 stud rams and 1 horse.
