Anderson.) Drunkenness.—Jane McManus was fined £5, or in default fourteen days' hard labour, for a third offence.

Fighting in The Streets.—Edward Smith and Paul Cummerfield were each charged with fighting in Queen-street on Saturday night.—Smith pleaded guilty and said he waa very sorry for what had occurred, bub he was drunk ab tho time.— Cummerfield pleaded guilby, bub stated thab he fought in self defence having lent bhe obher man a knife, and when ho asked for ib back again bhe man assaulted bim.— Acting-Detectives Quirk and McMahon depoeed to seeing tbe men fighting and taking them into custody.—The Bench dismisaed the information against Cummerfield, and fined Smith £1, or 14 days' hard labour in default.

Alleged Forging and Uttering.—John Gtano and Jamea Graham were charged with having at Ohinemuri forged and utterod a cheque on tho Bank of New Zealand for £15, the same being uttered to George Martin.—Sergeant Gamble asked that the prisoner should be remanded bo tho Thames, which was agreed to by the Bench.

A Sad Case.—Frank Denman waß remanded for ono woek for medical treatment.—Sergeanb Gamble stated thab the man was unfit to appear as he was Buffering from deirium tremens.
