Rosebery v. Britomart.— This match waa played on bho Domain, and resulted in a win for the former by 14 to 6. Triea were scored by Clarke (2), Currie (I),, Sommerville (1), and W. Bain kicked a goal. WeLLESLEY-STREET SCHOOL V. NORTH Shore School.—Aftor a wellc-ontested game the match ended in a win for Weiles-ley-street by eight pointß to threo. Two tries were ecorod by Gallagher for Welles-ley-streefc, one of wnich Whitley converted. Spencer scored a try for the Notth Shore. Red Rose v. Britannia.—Thia match was played in the Domain, which resulted in a win for Red Rose by 40 points to nil. The triea wero scored by Munro (5), Magee (1), Courtney (4), Hill (2). Courtney kicked a goal from the field and 3_from tries.
Native Rose v. Blue Star. — Thia match resulted in a win for the former by 14 pointa to nil, Triea : Newton, 2; Tyler, 2; one of which Mobberley converted.
ASSOCIATION MATCHES
The Association football matches were continued laab Saturday in tho Domain under favourable circum__tancea, although the ground was slightly soft. United v. Grafton.—Thia match ended with a large score on the eide of United, 9 to 1 being registered in favour of that team at the call of time, bub bhis was considered not to represent the merits of the two teams, the general opinion being that the scores should have been much closer. Goals for United were obtained by Smith (6), and Crammdnd, Heather, and Shaw registered one each.for their side. The only score for the Graftonites waa secured by Laird. Smi.h, tbe^goalkeeper for Graiton, appeared to be _ very nervous, in more than one case missing a
ball which might have been blocked. For United the backa all playod well, Smith being tbe mosb prominent, bub on the Grafbon side no ono was particulary conspicuous. West End v. North Shore.—The only score throughout thia game, which from a spectator's point of view w»8 rather unintereßting, was secured by Dacre for tha Shoreites. The score waa registered towarda the end of the second spell. The four new men played by West End did not come up to expectations, the play throughout of both teama seeming to lag. PRACTICE MATCH. The selection committee of tho Auckland Rugby Union meb thia afternoon and selected the following players to take part in the practice match op Saturday next. The playera chosen are requested to meet for training purposes every Tuesdayand Thursday evening at the Wyndham street Baths. The first meeting will be held to-morrow evening at 7.30 o'clock :— A Team.—Full-back, F.
