(To the Editor.) Sir,—You kindly noticed my sad affliction, being struck blind after leaving Sydney in the mail for 'Frisco. The chief officer of the steamer advised me to pub myself under Dr. Wilkins, of Auckland. I was lucky in doing so, as by an operation skilfully performed my sighb soon began to return, and is improving every day, as you must see when I am able to write this note to you_ I resume my voyage to-morrow to .America, and I ask you please to insert this as an expression of gratitude to Dr. Wilkins, whom I musb thank for my sight, and the many people in Auckland who have been kind to me in my late brouble.—l am, etc., Fredk.
