NEW ZEALAND JOURNALISTS' INSTITUTE.
Ok Saturday evening the annual meeting of the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Institute of Journalists, at the V.M.C.A. Rooms. Mr W. Berry occupied the chair. An account of the proceedings of the Council of the Institute was given by Mr Woodward, one of the delegates. Several members expressed the opinion' thafa the Council at Wellington did not keep the branches sufficiently notified as to the transactions. It wac also decided to ask thafa in future copies of resolutions passed by the Council should be forwarded to she various branches. Delegates.—Messrs N. E. Burton, and A. M. Ferguson, were appointed delegates to represent the Auckland branch ab the forthcoming meeting of the Institute at Wellington. AssoAr, Report.—Mr CL M. Main, Treasurer, reported that ab the close of the financial year there were 33 members of tho Auckland branch, including three ladies. There was £3 6s 2d in hand after payment of all expenses. Officers.— The following officers were elected for the ensuing year :—President, MrT. vV. Leys: Secretary, Mr E. Wilfrid 6. Rathbone; Treasurer, Mr 6. M. Main ; Committee, Mrs Wai. Rattray, Messrs F. Baxter, Wm. Blomfield and N. E. Burton: members of Council, Hon. W. McCulloueh, Measre T. W. Leya, W. Berry and W. Douglas.
