Cheese.— Supplies in firafa bands are email, and firmness in the market ia noticeable. Boat factory are readily saleable, at 4£d for largo iinua to 5d for ordinary retail lobs. We anticipate a slight advance next moufch. Bacon and Hams.—The supply has now overtaken demand. Business continues steady. The qualiby of Canterbury meat is giving great satisfaction, and large orders hava been taken for the best brands. Flour.—The hardening tendency for beat milling wbeat has dispelled all idea of lower ratua for Hour. Some disorganisation of prices experienced lately has passed, and business is active again, at current rates. Oats.—The demand for Tartarian seed is active, and prime samples are aomewhat difficult to obtain ; Is lOd to 2e, c.i.f., for lines are current auooatioua. Feed oata are quieb, heavy purchases made earlier in the season having blocked business for thotimo being. Potatoes.—Southern table sorts are a shade firmer, and stocks locally are lighter than for many weeks past. This condition of things will, as is customary, ba suddenly reversed by heavy shipments. Southern advices indicate a firm tone with farmers, who decline accepting present rates, If chia continues, buyers will have to come up in their values. Seed potatoes of all sorts are in keen &mwd* aa& rcolfefi fair prie«e.
