PROPOSBD DEMAND UPON THE COLONIES.
London, Jane 14. Sbvkkai. Lords and members of the House of Commons are signing a memorial urginff tbe Government to decline to subsidU* the Canadian-Australian steamers and th Q Pacific cable unless the colonies share in the cost of the Imperial navy. - The Imperial Federation Defence Committee is asking the Government to invite the delegates to the Ottawa Conference to declare if the colonies are willing to share in the cost of the navy.
