Allege Sheep Stealing.—T. he Suprtnie Court was occupied during the whole of yesterday, hearing the two, charges-, of alleged sheep stealing ab purewa. preferred against two. Maoris named Hone Rameka and Rika Werokia.—Mr Hansen,' one* of the prosecutors in the Court below, had since died. .The. locality in, wtiiohr the offence was alleged to have taken place was north of the Bay. of Islands, where the accused Rameka has a run adjoining that of the , late ', Mr Hansen, and -these two were the , only:' two /in; , the district who were known to have sheep. Hone Rameka.said he mustered the sheep but did not steal them.—This morning the hearing of the ease was resumed at 10 o'clock.—His Honor informed the jury that the case against Hbjhe, Rameka was weak, and asked if they required th«b Mr, Bloomfield (counsel for accused) should address them before, considering tbeir verdict.— After consultation the jury, agreed tpjhear the evidence for tho defence, and Hono Rameka went intn-thp bo-ttand/gaveevi-The case has been prbed-dihg all day. ..
