Arthur, auctioneer, reports fair business during the past week, and produce moved off freely ab the following rates :— Potatoes, £3 to £3 5s per ton for best samples ; other lots, £2 10s to £2 15s; cow potatoes, 30s ; carrots, 2s ; pumpkins, la 9d to 2a; melons, la 3d to Is 9d; kumeras, 4s to 4s 6d ; fowl wheab, 2a 5d to 2a 7d per bushel; maize, 2s 9d ; oats 2s ; barley, 2a 6d; bran, 3s; sharps, 3a 9d ; chaff, £3 to £3 10s per ton. Best butter, Gd to 7d per lb; medium, 4d to s£d per lb; fresh ditto, 8d to B|d ; eggs, Is 3d to Is 6d per dozen; cheese, _,_d to 4d per lb ; other lota, Id to 2£d per lb; bacon, good local cure, 7d to 8d per lb ; hama, ditto shoulders, 4d to sd. Fruit: Apples, l|d to 2|d lb ; guavas, 2^d ; pears, 2Jd to 3_d per lb ; passion fruit. 2£d to 3|d per dozen ; tomatoes, 7d to la 6d per case ; Cape gooseberries, 4id to 6^d per lb; lemons, 6d to B£d per dozen. Poulbry : Turkey gobblers, 4s to 5s each ; hen, dibbo., 2s 3d to 3a 9d ; geese, 2s Id to 2s 61b ; ducks, Is Id to Is 6d ; ordinary table fowl, Is to 2s ; cockerels, Is 9d to 2s 6d each.
