Wellington, this day, THE ANTARCTIC WHALER.
Ox getting first news of tho proposed visit j of tho Antarctic to the Auckland Islands, Mr Seddon telegraphed to the Premier of Victoria acquainting bim of thoso islande being under New Zealand rule, under section 2(3 of Act 26 and 27 Victoria Cap. 23. He also pointed out that the Colonial, official list was wrong in this respect, as thoro was no such impact us was quoted. Mr Seddon to-day received a reply from Mr Wollaston, probably Private Secretary to tho Governor of Victoria, stating that the Antarctic had cleared from Molbourno on April 10th, and intended to proceed on to Auckland, thence tv the islands. No reply has been sent by the Victorian Premier. Probably tho matter was referred to tho Governor. . NEW ZEALAND STOCKS RISING. Tho Agent General cabled yesterday that New Zealand stocks aro vory linn and still rising. MINISTERS' MOVEMENTS. Tho lions. Ward and McKenzie leave for tho South thia evening in tho Hinemoa, which proceeds from the Bluff to the Auckland Inlands. PARLIAMENTARY GROUNDS.
