AN ALARMING STORM.

HEAVY RAINFALL,

Brisbane, this day,

A tornado passed over a portion of tho Bowen district. It appeared first in tho shape of a waterspout, which broke on the Flagstull Hill with a loud report, aud throwing huge bolder* and trees about. The tornado left a track 40 feeb wide. Hoavy rainfall has occurred ab Townsvino, and some parts ol the town wero flooded. A man named Bruce hae been drowned. Sydney, April 19.

Heavy gales are raging along the Now South Wales coast. Rain is more general over the whole of Ausfcrulia than has been the case for many years past. Several of the rivers in tho Western district are in high flood, and Bourke is in danger of in* undation.
