Wanganui, this day. At Fordell yesterday Harry Laing, a wellknown prize-fighter, attempted to alight from a train whilst in motion. He fell, and getting under the train, had both his legs cub off. The train pulled up at the bottom of Fordell hill, and wenb back and broughb Laing to Wanganui. He was at once taken to the hospital. -

• Later. " The doctors hold out no hopes of Harry Laiag's recovery. Both legs have been amputated below the knees. Tbe suflerer is conscious, bub _3 in a sinking condition.

Wanganui, this day. Laing died shortly after 12.30 to-day in an unconscious state.
