HARBOUR BOARD.
The following business was transacted at the meeting of the Harbour Board yesterday, subsequent to our going to press :— Painting Mark Buoys.—The following tenders were received for this work :~ Alex. Gouk, £19; Bradney and Binns, £17 5s ; W. J. Cameron, £18 10s ; and J. Taylor, £20. The lowesb tender was accepted. ■ Committees. —Ib was resolved * •• That Mr Porter's name be added bo bhe Finance and Legal Committee, and Mr Holland's on the Workß and Tariff Committee." Freeman's Bay Reclamation.—Mr Porter moved : MThab the present system of filling in Freeman's Bay is unsatisfactory, and the matter be referred to the Works and Tariff Committee to report upon."— This was seconded by Mr Julian, and agreed to. The Pilot Sebvice.—Mr Hendersons motion: " That the Works and Tariß Committee report on present position of pilob service with a view to calling for fresh tenders or to make such other arrangements as may be deemed advisable," was allowed to stand over.
