Our Waikato correspondent writes: "Groat satisfaction was felt in Waikato on hearing of Lottie's success in the Easter Handicap, she having been bred ab Hamilton. The performance was such a good one, judging by the time, that the breeder of the mare may feel justly proud of her. Muaknpeer, her sire, has had, I am informed, only two bhoroughbred mares, the resultß being Lobtie from Ladybird, and Blunderbuss from Polish, and both of these horses have shown their abiliby to gallop. Ladybird has had two foals bo Ingomar, and is now in foal to Cuirassier, but many think it a pity she did not again visib Muskapeer. A mare of Lottie's stamp should be a good advertisement! for any sire.
A cableernm from Sydney says thab ab the sale of yearlings yesterday the bidding was not spirited though the quality of the animals offered was very good. The top price obtained was 775 guineas, which was paid by Mr S. Hordern for Toreador (by Chester —Tempo) a full brother to Titan. A geldine by Martini-Henry, from Acme, realised 400 guineas, while Mr D. O'Brien, of Cbrißtchurch, obtained the Abercorn — Xolanthe colt for 260 guineas.
