HENDERSON WINS THE "O" BAT
TERY CHALLENGE CUP.
On Saturday afternoon, the annual competition for the " O " Battery Cup, firod for with Snider rifles, took place at the Mount Eden range. The match was a 28-shot one, the ranges being 400, 500, 300, aud 200 (seven Bhota ab each). The weather wa» mosb unfavourable for shooting. Lieubenant Dormer and Sergeanb Rose conducted the competition. Great excitemenb prevailed when the men gob to the 200 yards range. Henderson and Draffin, both had 73 to their credit, with Greenshields one Doint behind. There were only seven shots to fire ab thi9 time. Draffin put on 29, and Henderson followed with the same, the latter score gaining precedence owing to the superioriby of his shooting ab the 500 yards, he having pub on 29 as against DrafhVa 22. with a miss. The Challenge Cup now becomes bhe sole property of Gunner Henderson, he having won ib twice in succession. He is reckoned one of the best loca! " Snider " shots.
