SATURDAY'S MATCHES.

Our cricketers were again favoured with tine weather for their championship matches at the Domain oval on Saturday. The various matches proved very interesting, although the results ia one or two cases were somewhat unexpected. Auckland met Parnell, and the game so far has every appearance of resulting iv a victory ior bhe latter. The batting of Auckland disappointed many supporters, and the total of 91 runs for the first innings was principally contributed by Lloyd-Quentery (30) and T. H. Wilson (23). These .cores leave the remainder of the batsmen with very meagre averages each. The bowling of Sbone and I. Mills for Parnell proved very effective, the former securing five wickets for 13 rune and the labber 3 for 28. The other senior match was that between Gordon and Uoited. The Gordon's innings was somewhat similar to Auckland's, the total being 95 runs, of which Kallender with 28 and Cotterill 33 were the only prominent scorers. At the call of time United had 24 runs for the loea of two wickets, and if bhey maintain this average United will win their first match. The following are the scores:—

All Saints.—Parnell batted first, and secured 40 runs, Elliot (17), and H. Moon (8), making tbe only stand of the innings. All Saints' Brat innings was 67. Airey (18), Dacre (17), Robertson (7), batted staadily for their runs. In their second innings Parnell lost 2 wickets for 3 runs. In Parnell's Ist innings Crooker took 4 wickets for 18, Lansford 4 for 18, and Peacock 2 wickets.for 2 tuns, and in their aecond Langsford got 1 wicket for 0, Peacock 1 for 3 runs. For Parnell Kilgour took 6 wickets for 32, Whitelaw 2 for 6 runs, Kilfoyle I for 3 runs, and McConnell 0 for 13.

Roller Mills v. North Shore ll.—The Roller Mills made 101 in their first innings, Gallagher 53, Lees, 26, and Totman 25 being the principal scorers. Norbh Shore have 6 wickets down for 37, Conley 9, J . Burgess 9, C. Williams 7, and Denby (not out) 6. For North Shore Denby took two wickets for 37, Valentine 4 for 22, Conley 5 for 24 ; and for Roller Mills Gallagher took 3 wickets and Todd 1 wicket.

Belmont B. v. Belmont A.—The former batted tir.«t iinrl secured 74 runs, of which C. Grindrod contributed 33 and Grindrod 19. Bolmont A have not yet finished their first innings, having 8 wickets down for 132. J. Thomas 53, Spurway 23, Totman 10, Cowan 14 and Parker (nob out) 16 were the chief scorers. St. John's v. ST. Andrew's—Sb. John's occupied the wiokeb for a considerable

time and made 128 runs in their firsb boing.. The principal scorers were Woods (31), JL White (24), P. Moir (14), and T. Murphy, not out (22). St. Andrew c first venture resulted in a meagre total of 30 runs. Gilmore (10) was the only player bo reach doublo figures. For St. John's Woods took 6 wickets for 17 runs, and White 3 for 4. Wanderers 11. v. All Saints' ll.— Wanderers batted first and secured 99 runs. I. Clarke was the highest scorer with 53, but G. Flobcber (13) and J. Whelan (12) also reached double figures. All Saints' followed wibh 39, none of the batsmen reaching the double figure. Harrhf(9) was the chief scorer.
