CROWN LANDS BOARD.
The usual monthly meeting of the Crown Lands Board was held this morning, when there were presenb Messrs G. Mueller (Commissioner), Bagnall, Lundon and Harm.
Lands Disposed.—The summary of lands disposed of from the 27bh January to the 17th February, 1894, was as followß :— Occupation, with right bo purchase, 1,792 acres ; lease in perpetuity, 536 acres : for cash, 43 acres; grazing leases, 3,413 acros ; total, 5,789 acres. Miscellaneous. —Leave of absence for two months was granted to Mr R. Thomp-< aon.—The Waiotapu petroleum leases were forfeited.—lt was decided to inform Grace Mathews, who applied to be allowed to wait until' July before starting bushfelling on her section, that the conditions of the Act musb be complied with.—Permission waß given to Mr C. Vincent to cut flax in Maramarua parish on the payment of £2. Ib was decided to inform Mr it. Thompson thab section 4, Hukatere, could aot be withdrawn from sale.
Applications for Land.—lt was decided to inform Mr A. K. Hay wood that there was no land to lease at Whakatane— An application from Mr A. Cochrane to purchase 7 acres 23 perches land ab (Vaikomiti was granted, the price to be £1 per acre. —Mr J. B. Wright applied to lease the recreation reserve at Takahue.—The Board decided to submit it to auction for seven years ab £2 per acre.—lt was decided to reduce the price of section 77, Mangapai, to 5a per acre-—The Board resolved to Bubmit lob No. 218, parish of Takapuna, to auction at £1 10a per annum for 14 years. —The proposal to open up 285 acres of land aB unsurveyed in Mangonui county, ab 20s per acre, was approved. ■ .
