CHRisTCHUEcn, this day. The New South Wales innings closed for 206, resulting in a victory for Canterbury by one innings and seven rune. McKcnzie > (60) played a very good innings, only marred by a chance or two of stumping off Robertson. Gould played fine cricket for 45, his capacity for putting anything on the short Bide being very marked. Austin j played another good inning? ; and Davis, Searl and Noble ail contributed doubles. Roberteon was not in form, and had about five chances missed off his bowling ; but was far more easily negotiated than on Saturday. Labatt bowled very steadily, but was unlucky, and it was left for Pearee and Palmer to secure the best averages' The fielding was not as good as on Saturday. The visitors left by express to-day for Titnaru, where they play fifteen of South Canterbury on Wednesday and Thursday. The scores are as follow : — New South Wales—Second luniugs. At a meeting of the Wellington Cricket Association to night ifc was decided to communicate with Mr Davis re a return match with New South Wales. It was decided that the Wellington team should include country representatives, and the selection committee in the picking of the team was instructed to take into consideration the namea of Lusk, Wolsten, Holme, and Bruce, ot Napier, and McDonouirh, of TaranakL The selection of the New Zealand team was ! diecueaed, and the following resolution was passed ;—" That this Association regrets that Mr Ollivter, in making his selection of the Wellington representatives for the New Zealand team, took the advice of irresponsible persons rather than that of this Association's selection committee." The Secretary was instructed to write to the Canterbury Association asking them to fix the date of their match with Wellington, in Wellington, either before Basber, or on the Tuesday and Wednesday after Easter Monday,
