Ib was decided to call for bender for works to tho value of the thirds. .... ~.v Wainui Road.— Mr Jame3 Harding and others aßked the Council to open up the road to the liwtß corner of lob 117 as they aro now locked up and could nob get their stores in. Referred to the engineer.
A New Name.-^A coinmuriicabion was received frora Mr Monstedb h;ia ofchor fesiflonts of that portion of the Birkenhead riding known as Greenhithe, intbrifling the Council that they had resolved to adopt.thfi name of Kent for the disbricb. They asked the Council to recognise K6nb afe bhe biily constitutionally establishetl appellation.— The Council declined to entertain auy such proposal. Parakakau. — Mr Win. Hellyer attended, and asked for the deviation of a road-through Mr More's prdperty at Parakalcau ; otherwise; his property would b8 blocked and inaccessible,—No action was taken in the matter. -
MAivriN s Road.—The applicati6n.';for-a bridge and culvert' across;Marbin'a Road, was referred to the riding member t6 report, ■■■ • ■ • • SwANSOtr.—Mr Shelley's request to erect a swing-gate on the Swanson--West GoaSb Road was grahbed. ' Lake TakavuJia.—Mr W; J, Napier appeared on behaifqf several residenbs of Lake Takapuna, requesting bhab the Council would take steps to prevent storm water, from, the road breaking down and damaging the propetties. They also asked that the water table at the top of Milford Road should be altered to enable busses to ttirn, and also thatsbeps should be taken to improve Milford Road.
