Christchurch, this day. A totjng farmer named Roberb Edwards, aged 25, unmarried, was found dead near Kaiapoi wibh a gunshob wound. Ho had been suffering from influenza and had complained of pains in the head. He took a gun from bhe house wibb the intenbion of shoobing swamp hens as the day was too web for harvesbing. When 100 yards from the' house a shot was heard, and a child proceeding to the Bpob found him lying oh hia back near a lagoon. Death must have been instantaneous. No further particulars are available.
