HORSES, FEED AND WOOL.
Messrs Hunter and Nolan reporb thab the supply of grain, seeds, horse feed, etc. has been ample for requirements, and there has even been no noteworthy alteration in value. We quote: Oats, 2a to 2s 7d per bushel; maize, 2s 6d to 2a 9d ; bran, £3 10s to £3 15a per ton ; oaten chaff, £3 to £4 per ton. The number of horses brought forward was quite up to the average, and prices were fully eusbained. The number disposed of by auction at tho Durhnru Yards showed an increase on th'o previous week, with little or no alteration in value. Bidding was spirited throughout the sale. We quote : Lighb harness horse 3, £6 10s to £14 10s; medium draughts, £8 to £15 10a ; heavy draughts, £15 to £26 ; hacks, £4 to £10 5s ; weeds, £1 103 bo £'2 10a. On accounb of the second wool sale of the series being held on Wednesday, tho usual sale of hides, skins, etc., wua not held. The first sale was held by us; prices opened at fully the previovs month's value, and continued throughout the sales. Crossbreds ranged from 6£d to SJ ; longwoola, 6d to 7Jd ; merinos, (3d to 64d ; lambstvool, 6Jd to 7^d ; pieces, 2hd to Gjd per Ib. Tho wool was sounder and better got up than at tho previous sulo, doubtless owing to the spoil of fine weather we have had lately.
