Aba meeting of the Cominittoo of tho New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association last night, a letter was received from tho local officer at Auckland, with reference to the refusal of tho local _*lub to permit members to compote at tho Caledonian Society's sports. Tho Committee re-affirmed its practice of not granting such permission except on the advice of the local club. With regard to the proposal of the Wairarapa Club to join with the Wellington Club in competing for the championship banner, it was decided to point out that such a union was nob permissible.
