Sib, —In your issue of the 4th insb. appears a report of the Trade and Labour Council's busiuesa re their President's conduct. The report is misleading, and only part of ib true. Ib was stated in the Council that Mr Worth was asked on Saturday, November 25th, to take the chair at Mr Napier's meeting on Monday, November 27th. Mr Worth promised to give an answer whether he would take tlie chair later on. Mr Worth then interviewed two members of tbe Council, and they etrongly adviaod him not to take the chair at Mr Napier's meeting, seeing that Mr Worth was Chairman ot'tho Trado and Labour Council's Electoral (Joinmitioe, which was to meeb at the Foresters' Hall, Newton, November 27th, om important business re tinal arrangements for Mr Tudoliope's candidaturo. Mr Worth gave his answer on Monday that ho would take the cbair if he was aaked to from the body of tho hall. Mr Worth attended Mr Napier's moeting and iook the cbuir. He did nob attend the Committeo meeting or send an apology. The Council could not approve of the President's conduct. Soveral ol the members spokeagaioai\ and not. ouemember Bpoke in support of the Prenidonb. Ib was stilted in the Star of the 4ih met. that several members agreed with Mr Worth.
