Messrs Hunter and Nolan's Report.— Cattle : Scarcely an average number have been brought forward and disposed of at prices generally in favour of the purchaser. There was a moderate muster at Newmarket on Tuesday, but it proved ample for requirements. There was no alteration in the value of dairy stock aud for fat beasts ; prices were slightly in favour of the purchaser ; beef sold at from 18s to 20s per 1001b. The prize ozen sold at from £13 to £16 each; prize cows, £8 to £10 each. Some averages of fab steers were £8 2s 6d, £8 15a, £8 0s Bd, £7 15s 7d, £7 11s lOd, £6 17s 6d, £6 73 9d. Cows, £6 10s, £6 2s 6d, £5 12s 6d, £5 ss, £4 15s. Sheep: There was a good many penned at Newmarked on Tuesday, but there was an absence of good wethers in wool, prices ranged from 11s 3d to 14s; shorn wethers, 9s 6d to 13s 9d; shorn ewes, 9s 6d tol3s3d; prize wethers, shorn, 14s 5d to 17s ; spring lambs ranged from 5s 3d to 11s 3d ; pigs were scarce, but at low values ; porkers sold at from 22s to 365. Messrs A. Buckland and Sons' Report. At the Haymarkeb during the past week, fodder has ranged from Is 6d to 3s 6d the cwt; maize, 2s 7.d to 2a 9d ; wheat, 3s 9d ; oats, 2a 2d to 2s 6d the bushel. Chaff has been forwarded in excess of requirement, someofiudifferentquality.priceshaveranged ftom £1 17s 6d to £3 5a the ton. On Friday horse stock yarded numerously, useful draft ranged from £8 to £23 each ; spring cart, horse, and harness, £*2 10s ; a buggy, £16. On Tuesday hides were firm at late values, ox hides ranged from 2d to 3gd ; cow hides, 2d to 2^d the lb ; tallow, 17s to 20s the cwt; boc**. 3cthe cwt; lambskins, 8d to Is 4d; pelts, £d to 9d ; wooled skins up to 5s 3d each. Many bag 3 and dumps of wool also sold. Prices ranged from 4Jjd to 6Jd the lb. Messrs Buckland Shipherd'a property was withdrawn from sale. On Wednesday, at the special sale held at Mr Tocty's, Remuera, there was bub a moderate attendance, and the sundries sold at low values, the draught horsee ranged in price from £10 to £20 each. On the show grounds tbeLincolnrams shown by Mr Overton, of Chriatchurch, were freely competed for, prices ranged from 21 to 41 guineas, averaging 27 guineas each. At Remuera, on Thursday, store cattle were yarded numerously. Several hundred sold. Late values were fully sustained. Dairy cattle plentiful, were also better worth. Prices ranged from £4 to £6 10s each. The pure-bred Alderneys did not sell so well as expected. The cows brought £510s to £10 ; heifeis, £7 to £9 ss; bulls, £3 to £315s each. Young and fab cattle plentiful; 70 yarned. Fresh-dropped,calves brought from6s tolls; weeks-old calves, from 12e to 25s each. Fat cattleshorb of usual supply (172 yarded), were at first at low values, but a few having been passed, prices rallied. Light-weight steers brought fully 20a, heavy-waight 18s to 19s the 1001b; 150 sold. Sheep in average number (1,112 yarded) fairly kept late values. Fab ewes, in their wool, brought 15s 6d; shorn, 8s 3d to 12a ; shorn wethers, 8s 9d to 14s 3d; store ewes, lambs at side, 4s eaoh.. Lambs, all of good quality, yarded numerously (314 sold), at first kepb lasb week's values, but fell in price as the sale proceeded, about Is 6d each. Prices mostly ranged from 7s 6d to lls ; others from 5s each. Pigs more numerous than for several weeks were of good quality, and sold freely at satisfactory prices. Messrs G. W. Binney and Sons' Report having offered and cleared a large catalogue of bides, skins, and tallow under brisk competition, and quote: —Extra prime stout ox:' None to hand; prime stout, 4|d to 4|d; stout, 4d to 4 \d ; medium and steers, 2§d to 3§d ; heavy cow, 2\ to 2^d; medium, l|d to 2d ; kip and calfskins, 2Jd to3|d per lb ; damaged, nominal prices. Skins : Long wools, 4s 6d to 5s lOd ; crossbreds, 3s 9d to 4a 4d ; country, 2s to 4s 6d ; pelts, 4d to 9d ; lambskins, lOd to Is 3d each.
