AUCKLAND YACHT CLUB.
A special meeting of the members of the Auckland Yacht Club took placo last evening for the purpose of revising the rules. There was a fair attendance, and MrJ, Wiseman, Commodore, presided. Prior to the. special business ben new members were elected. The reporb of the Committee appointed bo revise rules, with a view of incor- 1 porabing bhe same wibh bhe rules, laws, and regulations of bhe Yachb Racing Association, was read, and it was resolved bo adopb the Yachb Racing Association's rules, wibh bhe following alterations :— (1) Thab in place of Rule 14, Y.R.A., sailing direction No. 1, A.V.C., be adopted. (2) Thab in yachbs over 10-rabing bhere be no limib bo bhe number of bands. (3) Thab the portion of Rule 16, Y.R.A., in reference to carrying boats on deck, be deleted, namely, all the words bebween " every yachb exceeding " and *"■ for immediate use." (4) Thab appendix 4, A.V.C., be amended as follows :—" Thab a limib to tbe time for concluding a race be decided by the Sailing Committee prior to each race." (5) That the classification of yachts shall be : Yachts, 2_ tons and under, class E ; above 1\ tone and not exceeding 5 tons, class D ; above 5 tons and not exceeding 7 tons, class C ; abovo 7 tons and not exceeding 10 tons, class B; above 10 tons, class A. (6) Tbab bhe A.V.C. laws and regulations be retained intact from sections 1 to 34, inclusive. (7) That no yachb competing iv a race be fitted wibh a bulb or ballasted pin. (8) Thab no new certificate shall be granted unless a bona fide alteration be made in bull or spars, and ab least one month's notice given*to the Secretary of such alteration.
