Messrs Pinkerton and Hutchison. M.H.R.'s, addressed a joint meeting ot their constituents lasb evening, the City Hall being crowded. The meeting was exceptionally orderly. Both members reviewed the work of the session, Mr Pinkerton dealing specially with the unsatisfactory state of the Standing Orders, and advocating amendmenb to prevenb waste of time. Mr Hutchison denounced the Council for the rejection of bhe Labour and Liberal measures. He approved of the Railways Bill as a compromise, but preferred the abolition of the Commissioners. He strongly advocabad compulsory arbitration, and tho necessity for the Lands for Settlemenb Bill. A vobe of thanks and confidence in both members was carried unanimously.
