ATTEMPTED ASSASSINATION.
a. PROVISIONAL PRESIDENT.
New York, October 24. Admiral Mello has proclaimed Lorena, Captain of one of. the insurgent vessels, provisional President of Brazil.
A second attempt has been made to assassinate Mello, without success.
