By the steamer Manapouri which arrived last week arrived five collie puppies, all sluts. They are three by Britannia (sister to Mr W. H. Cooper's stud dog Donald) and two by Fly out of Lassie. They are all sired by Mr Herbert N. Watson'e, of Gisborne, stud dog Kainoe Jock (Hy Heather Jock— Tarura Shell, by Heather Lock—H. Charmer, by Clydesdale Trumpet—Clydesdale Beauty, by Paramount—Sable Plume, etc.). They have been sent up by the breeder, the well-known judge Mr Herbert N. WatBon, who has selected them for the_ purpose of improving the breed of collies in the Auckland province. The fanciers, and indeed the runholders of the province, are deeply indebted to Mr Watson for his generous kindness. The fortunate owners of these puppies are Messrs A. A. White, W. H. Cooper, A. There will be a large number for competition in each class, but we hope he will be successful. Fanciers should not forget that entries for the Auckland Dog Show on December Ist and 2nd close on Saturday, 25th November. Mr Thos.
