RECITAL OF SACRED MUSIC.

The fourth annual recital of sacred music atSb. Andrew's Presbyterian Church was well attended last night. The anthems, "The Lord is Loving" (Garrett), "Lead, Kindly Light" (Htainer), "What are These" (Stainer), and two hymns were nicely sung by the choir, the solo in " Lead, Kindly Light" being sung by.Mrs Harrop. The fine solo, "He Was DeBpieed," waa sung by Hiss Laing. Ouonod's '• Aye Maria " waa sung by Miss Harvey, the accompaniment being played by Misa Freda Marsden (violin), Mr Baxter (organ), Mr J. A. Beale ('cello;, Mr Phillpot (piano). Vocal aolos were also contributed by Mr George who sang, "Nazareth," Mr A. Taib, the tenor solo " Light in Darkness " (Cowen), and Mr A. H. McLean, " His Salvation is Nigh them that) Fear Him." An unaccompanied quartette entitled " The Chapel " _ (Kreutzer) waa pung by Messrs Trenwith, Wright, Rogerson aud George. A 'cello solo "Schlummerlied," by Schuman, was played by Mr J. A. Beale, and Mr F. .Grihben performed " The Chorister " as a solo on the tni m pet. Organ poloa were blbo played by Messrs Beale and Phillpot. The concluding \oluntary "Marche dcs Girondins" was played by Mr C. F. Baxter. The proceeds of the offertory are devoted towards reducing the debt on the church.
