DOMESTIC TROUBLES.

AN ONEHUNGA CASE,

At the Police Courb this morning, before Dr. Giles, R.M., George McQuay, who was arrested on warrant, was charged that he did unlawfully desert bis wife and two children under the age of 14 years. After hearing tbo. evidence, Dr. Giles said that there was no doubt about desertion in this case, and strongly commented upon defendant leaving his wife and two children withoub support, and holding no communication with his wife. The Charitable Aid Board had no right to be imposed upon in such cases, and should be protected. He would make an order that defendant contribute 5s per week towards the support of his wife, and 2s 6d for each child, and also find one surety of £25 that he would comply with the order for 12 months.
