THE HALF HOLIDAY.
(To the Editor.)
Sir, —As to the question nf timo a shop bbGi.tunt should in fairness work, do wo nob, to your own knowledge, toil more hours than should constitute seven fairdays' work, " even with the half day thrown in," for our six days' pay. What lam thankful to the Acb for is this. Ib gives me ono evening besides Sunday in the week to meob my family at the tea table. It gives me a chance of purchasing anything I may require without having to trench upon the three-quariera of an hour allowed for my mid-dny meal, and ib gives me an opportunity, which Itakeadvantage of. of keeping a little garden going. " R.L." questions whether in faimoss I should look upon those as my righb. Call phem what he likes. More power, I say, to tho Government who considers they urn. Sister and brother workers give these emancipators your supporb; they deserve ib. Thanking you, Mr Editor, in anticipation.—l am, etc., Food Assistant.
