(To the Editor.) Sib,—Will you kindly grant me a email apace iv your valuable paper to ask the general public a few questions re halfholiday (Saturday). In my opinion, laws on these matters are nob the proper machinery for governing the liberties of the people, but that) the whole queßlion is with the people themselves, and unless all classes help there can never be any real salts/action in any social reform. 1. Would those who already enjoy the half-holiday (Saturday) like to change it for any other day, or relinquish it? 2. Would they like to be confined in'a shop till 10 p m. on Saturday ? 3. Could thoy not, with a little mora forethought make their purchases through the week, by so doing aiding both shopkeepers and aesißtants ? 4. Have they como to the conclusion tbab one class ia entitled to more liberty than another ? 5. Why shouldn't shop assistants play cricket or any other game ? Would ib ba injurious to thoir health or perjure their precious boulb. (3. Do peopio over ask themselves these simple questions, leaving outsell? Ro>. membering that the only real law is Love, and the only true religion ia to do unto others as you would like them do unto you, —I am, etc., Liberty and Tkuth,
