The Police Court was occupied eeveral houra to-day with two assaulb cases, John Love being charged with having; assaulted Charles Worrall, and Joseph Lowo with havinc assaulted Willian Worrall. Mr Napier appeared for both defendants, who pleaded not guilty. Mr J. O: Meagher ropresentod the complainant. As usual there wna groat discrepancy in the evidence given, the complainant asserting that tho assault was unprovoked, while tho defendants paid they gob over tho fenco to punish the boys for impudence Dr. Giles, R.M., commented upon tho discrepancies and said that defendants were not justified in getting over the fence, when the boys iveie on their fathor's property, consequently a fine of 10s and coats was inflicted in each case.
