Napier, thia day. Fine weather prevails for the second day'B racing, and there ia a good attendance. Results :—
Second Trial Hukdles of 50sovs, 1. mile.—T. Rose (Whittaker), 1; Maid of Lome (Petersen), 2 ; Vasco (Redmond), 3. Quilt waa scratched. T. Rose camo away at the finish, and won easily from Maid_ of Lome, Vasco being a medium third. Dividend, £3 7s. Time, 2mm 54 2-ssec. Caledonian Handicap of 50sovs. Six furlongs.—Lochnoss (Monaghan), 1; Musketeer (Warren), 2 ; Commo (Gallagher), 3. Mystic and Waterlily were scratched. Spinaway was tho firsb to move off the mark, but Peropo and Swivel took command, Flefca falling back at the lasb. Lochnoss wenb to the fronb in the turn, and, coming on fast, gob home from Musketeer, Commo being third, Swivel (?) fourth, Spinaway fifth, Peropo and Flota nexb ; then followed The Parson, Swivel (?), and Sb. Malo. Dividend, £12 ss. Time, lmin 21 l-sth uec.
Racing Club Handicap.—Ua (Lindsay), 1; Ran. iatea (Boyle), 2; Stanmoor (Gallagher), 3 ; Pinrose (Myers), 4. All started. Krina wont three quarters of a mile ab top speed beforo the Btart. Rangiatea took charge in tbe turn, and, coming on, fche race seemed to bo all over, bub Ua challenged liim ab the distance and beat the eon of Somnus by half a length. Time, lmin 59 3-sth sec. Dividend, £3 2s.
