THE WOMEN'S FRANCHISE.
The Registrars of Electors ab Auckland and elsewhere have received instructions from the Government to tho effocb that they are to form new electoral rolls for the various districts, comprising all the names on the existing rolls, together with the names of all persona enrolled up to Thursday, the sth of October. These rolls are to be printed forthwith, and will close on the date mentioned. Ib is desirable that all women electors should lodge their claims for enrolment with the Registrar ab once, so that they may be enabled to aeo that tneir names are correctly printed before thfl rolls are finally closed for the approachiDg elections.
We are requested "to state thab the Auckland Licensed Victuallers' Association has not hitherto had any canvassers out in order to induce women to enrol their names as electors. An advertisement in to-day's issue notifies thab Messrs Smith, Davis, and Bentley wore yesterday temporarily employed to assisb with other societies in placing women'a names on the roll, irrespective of party or party opinions.
