COLONIAL BANKING.
PROPOSED STATE BANK,
Adelaide, this day. The Colonial Treasurer, addressing the Assembly, said if it can be shown that a drain of gold in time of pressure can be made he was prepared to reeommond his colleague to bring in a Bill to establish a State bank of ieaue next session.
The Premier has, in pursuance of a conference ot Premiers, held in Melbourne during the fionancial crisi?, completed a draft of Bill to regulate banking in the colonies somewhat on the lines of American federal banking laws.
