A THANKSGIVING MEETING.
Dunedin, this day. The Women's Franchise League held a thanksgiving meeting this afternoon. Tomorrow ainhfc they hold a, monstor meeting for onrolrcens of members.
As evidence of tho interest manifested in the enfranchisement of females, ib is worthy cf note1 that by three o'ciock to-day the Registrar of Electors for Auckland, Mr James Halliday, had received applications for 11,000 ot tho new forms in order tliac women might register. Some women called early in tho day, while various sociotice sent in requests for forms. Until official intimation is roceivod that the Bill has been assented to by the Governor, none of the new forma will bo issued.
Forms can be obtained from the Registrar, Mr Halliday, and when tilled and properly witnessed may be forwarded by post. As it will bo a fortnight before they can bo ontorod on tho roll, ib iv requisite that claims bo sent in forthwith.
