Mr Tcoce, actuary for the Australian Mutual Provident Society, having inquired into tho British and American systems, ia proposing radical changes in tho colonies. The Institute of Actuaries boliovo that tho result will bo increased stability and popularity. Mr Tooce oxplains that the roforees have devised a method of valuation giving automatic oll'ecb to a gradual reduction of tho rate of interest assumod in the valuations until any required minimum has been reached. Tho result would be that tha margin of profit would remain constant.
