WOMEN PREPARING TO ENROLL.

A meeting to enable women to take the necessary Bbeps to claim for enrolment on the electoral roll was held last nieht. There w&s a large attendance. Three hundred and twenty women filled in forms, which were witnessed bub nob dated, in view of bhe Bill not having yeb roceived the assonb of tho Governor. A motion was carried, "Thab a meeting, attended by several hundred womeu of tho electoral district of Christchurch, hereby asks His Excellency the Governor at onco to give his assent to bhe Electoral Bill, which embodied the principlo of conferring on them the rights of citizenship./ It was rosolved to ask bhe Canterbury Liberal Association to support the resolution. Aba meeting held under bhe außpicos of bho Women's Christian Temperance Union, n motion was carried and ordered to be sent to the Governor, "Thab this meeting regards with indignation tho brewers' petition rtgainsb women's suffrage, and trusts your Excellency will nob delay assent bo bhe Electoral Bill." A DUNEDIN DEMONSTRATION. Dunedin, this day.
Aboub 2,000 signatures were attached yesterday to a petition asking the Governor not to assent to tho Electoral Bill until tho country has had an opportunity of passing an opinion on the female franchise.
