MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.

POLLING TO-DAY.

To-day the annual elections to fill vacancies in the Auckland City Council and in suburban boroughs were proceeding, the polling being from nine a.m. till six p.m. The only city ward in which an election took place was Karan^ahape, the vacancy for this ward being contested by Messrs Ernest Eugster and Henry T. Garratt, the latter of whom is the retiring member. Both candidates being well and favourably known, a considerable amounb of iiitereab was manifested in the election. Tha polling booth waa the Excelsior Hall, at the corner of Pitt aod Eaab-streete. Mr S. Brooking acted as Returning Officer.
