SUGAR DUTY DOUBLED,
Melbourne, this day. The Treasurer announced thab owing to the rejection of the proposed reduction in the municipal vote, the Government had decided to impose an additional Custom duty. The article selected was sugar, and the duty on that commodity would be double the duty from today.
