CITY COUNCIL ELECTIONS.
The following gentlemen were to-day declared by Mr Brooking, Returning Officer, duly elected for the vacant) seats in the undermentioned wards in the Auckland City Council : — Ponsonby : Mr W. Thome. North Ward : Mr Charles Atkin. South Ward : Mr J. T. Julian. East Ward : Mr Alfred Kidd. Grafton : ilr .T. M. Patterson. The only contested seat ia Karangahape, Mr H. T. Garratt, the retiring member, and Mr Eugster being, the contesting parties. It will be seen from tho above that Mr W. Thome is tho only new inembur, ho taking tho scab of the retiring councillor Mr W. J, Courtney.
