ALLEGED STICKING-UP.
TWO YOUNG MEN BEFORE THE
COURT,
At tho Police Court this morning two young men named James Glover and Henry Smith, wero charged with having on the 24th July, unlawfully and violently assualtod one Arthur Cattle, and with robbing the same of the sum of £5. Mr Theo. Cooper appeared for Glover. Sergeant Major Gamble stated thab the accused had only been arrested yesterday afternoon, and applied for a romand of ono week which wa* granted, bail being fixed in a personal security of £50, and two sureties of £25 each for each man. Ib is stated thab the complainant, whilst walking along Wellesley-streot on Monday evening, was knocked down and robbed of the amount seb oub in tho charge. He appeared in the Courb this morning with his face considerably knocked aboub and bruised. He is a farmer, and had just come to town for the day. Glover was arrested by Detective Grace and Smith by Detective Chrystal,
