MEETING OF FARMERS,

At the invitation of a number of farmerg interested in creamery matters, Messrs Spragg and White, of the New Zealand Dairy Association, attended a well-ropre-« seated meeting at Waiuku on Saturday lasb. Mr Manning was voted to tbe chair and briefly stated whab the meeting waa called for, and asked Mr Spragg to give his viows on tho subject. A resolution inviting the New Zealand Dairy Association to start a creamory ab Waiuku was pub bo the meebing and carried, some 50 voting for it. A large number did nob vobe as bhey belonged bo Woipipi. The condibions were nexb read and fully explained and agreed to be reasonable and fair. An agreement would havo to be signed by each supplier to starb on Sepbember lsb, Six days' grace would ba allowed, and no excuse whatever would ba accepted. Those starting on Ist would receive 3d per gallon for 10 por cent, milk, and $d per cenb. extra for over 10 per cent, and in like proportions deductions would be made for all milk below tho standard abated; a bonus would also be paid to thOße supplying all through the season. The Company would nob orecb a butter making plant here, bherefore the cream would havetogoto Pukekohe, for which the suppliers wouldbava to contribute half the cost of carting it bo bhe Mauku, where ib would be taken on from there. A resolution agreeing to this waa passed. The Company would nofc think of coming without a good guarantee of cows to start with, say 400. Agreements forabout2oo were signed for in theroom, aud a good committee appointed to canvass the district and forward to Mr Spragg on Saturday noxt.
