The barque Grasmere is anchored in the stream, waiting a fair wind bo sail for the Kaipara.
The barqnentine Waitemata is being overhauled and repaired in the Auckland Graving Dock.
Last evening the s.e. Southern Cross lefb for East Coasb portß and Wellingbon with a general cargo.
Yesterday evening the s.s. Waihora Bailed for Sydney. She called ab Rueeell en route to-day.
The Norwegian barque Valparaiso, which visited this porb some time ago, haa been purchased ab Sydney by Captain J. Penboss,
The barque Devonporb was cleared thia afternoon for bbc Kaipara, wibh a parb general cargo. She loads timber bhere for Sydney. The s.s. Chelmsford arrived yesterday evening from Whakatane and Whangamata with 150 sks maize, 50 sks potatoes, 22 bales flax, 24 eks kauri gum and sundries.
The Government steamer Hineraoa leaves Whangarei this evening in continuation of hor northern cruise. She baa been cleaning and putting tho buoys of Whangarei Harbour in order.
This morning the American barquentine Abiel Abbob sailed from Wellingbon for this port. She haa a parb cargo from New York, on diecharge of which she loads back wibh kauri gum and flax. Messrs Arnold, Cheney and Co. are the agents.
The . new schooner-scow Whangaroa ib fitting out ab the Railway Wharf. She is the subject of considerable interest and many encomiums have been passed on her smarb appearance. She goes hence to Lyttelton, Captain Olsen taking charge.
From Lybbelton to-day, bho Amerioan barque W. B. Flinb, sailed for this porb with a part cargo from New York. Sho comes up here bo load kauri gum and flax for New York, in bho interests of Messrs Arnold, Cheney, and Co.
Ab7.30 o'clock this morning the Colonial Sugar Company's steamer Fiona arrived from Fiji with a cargo of raw sugar and rum. After cruising around the Group, Captain Curphey reports thab she finally lefb on Friday laßb, ex-periencing fresh southerly winds to porb. She is now discharging ab Chelsea, and leaves ab 9 a.m. to-morrow for Sydney direct. The many friends of Captain Curphey will regret bo learn thab ho is not enjoying tho besb of health jusb now.
