QUEENSLAND NATIONAL BANK.

RECONSTRUCTION SCHEME ADOPTED. London, July 24. Me E. J. Daws, speaking afc a meeting of Queensland Bank creditors, iaid the suspension was caused by tho unfair criticism of a section of tbo press, and that) every deposit was withdrawn when it fell due until a million sterling had been paid out. He assured the meeting that the creditors had reasonable expectation of receiving both interest and principal if tbe reconstruction scheme were sanctioned. Otherivisa the outlook was very poor, as the Government would claim priority in the event of liquidation. If the bank were to go into liquidation at presenb, it would result in an alarming shrinking of assets. Depositors and shareholders unanimously adopted the reconstruction scheme.
