NEW RIFLE ASSOCIATION. To receive tho reporb of a committee ap* pointed aba previous meeting to draw up a Bed of rulos, a number of volunteer! mustered at the Drill Shod, and after som» discussion formed a new rifle association. The Auckland Volunteer Shooting Bepreeentative Association, which is the title of the new body, has for its object the promotion of competition in rifle practice with the Bistor colonies of Australia. There is also a provision which providos for teams being sent to England should the occasion arise. The rules, as submitted and adopted, provide that the president be the officer commanding the district. Subscriptions were fixed at:—Members of staff, 10s 6d ; volunteers and reserve, £2 2s for each corps and each bona fide rifle club ; hon. members, 10s 6d ; and life members, £3>3s. It was further agreed that members bind themselves to refund to the secretary 10 per cent, of all money prizes won by them in Australia, and 25 per cenb. of all money prizes won outside Australasia within two months of the paying over of such .prizes, the penalty for non-compliance with this rule to be forfeitures of membership. It was agreed to aek the officer commanding the district to accept the position of president, and Lieutenant Hume, of tho Permanent Artillery, that of vico-prepident.
