Thames, this day. Mr Jas. McGowan is not to be opposed for the Thames seat. At a public meeting, held on Saturday night to consider tho advieability ot running a working man against him, about 300 were present. It was decided by 46 to 34 nob to contest this by election, bub to fight the general election. The vast majority refrained from voting.
