"NEW AUSTRALIA."

THE BARQUE ROYAL TAR,

The Sydney " Morning Herald " of the 15th inst., says : "A further official inspection of the barque Royal Tar (which has ainco left Sydney for Paraguay with the " New Australia" emigrants) was made y.osterday by Captain Vine Hall, Emigration Department; Captain Pollock, Lloyd's surveyor ; and Mr M'Critchie, Marine Board Survoyor, and although somo ot the minor defects in the equipmenb of the barque, which had bten pointed out at previous examinations had been remedied, it was found that there wero still a 'few improvements in the boat gear to* be effected. The health officer also thought that the supply of medical comforts was Bomewhals limited. It was admitted by the officials that the accommodation for" the Paraguay emigrants was superior to that u&ually provided. As, however, the Koyal Tar is the firat veseol that has lofb New South Wales with emigrants for a now land, the utmost precaution is being taker? to see that every provision is made for the requirements of the 300 people who will ba on board. Care has been taken to see that sufficient boat accommodation is on board, and the appliances for fire-fighting and other perils of the sea are to bo carefully attended to. The timbers throughout the re-fitted barque have been carefully teetod, and when the few omissions that woro pointed oufc to Captain LogaD have been remedied the promoters of the " Now Australia" movement will be given a clearance. The master of the ship (Captain Logan) hits an ample crow offered him, the Seamen's Union having volunteered to find as many A.B.'u as muy bo required freo of cost to the emigrants and their executive. Although the adventurers are somewhat annoyed at the delay in the sailing of the vessel, they still remain in good health and spirits."
